RE: Your comments on Empowered #7:

I understand your feelings on the apparent change of tone of Empowered. A part of me still loves the goofy, sexy DiD stuff that hooked me in the first place. I'm just good with the direction things seem to be taking. For me, for her to remain constantly put-upon, the successes she actually manages to score remain unnoticed just risks stagnating her character.

I wonder if he doesn't have an actual endgame for the series. Better to leave them wanting more than wishing it had ended sooner.

Wow, I managed to reeeally miss this one, didn't I? Sorry.

Yeah, I agree, there's some end game or resolution coming up. I expect it will be great, since it's AW after all. It's just that it looks headed in a more conventional power-up direction than in the beginning, which makes me a bit antsy.

I just enjoyed the hell out of the D-list life and the fantastic superhero/celeb background -- that sort of thing is really his big strength, I'd say -- so basically I'd really like to stay there longer.
To be honest, I *am* worried that the jacking up of the stakes can lead to the plot careening out of control. And I do agree that the "behind-the-scenes/seedy underpinnings" of the supahero life is one of the series' strength. But I've read too much of the "straight" supercomix to know that harping on the same notes and refusing to admit REAL change and REAL development in the characters can lead to a comic being disposable, "grown-up-out-of", if you see what I'm saying.
